What is a connection request?

A connection request is the administrative procedure necessary to request modifications to an electrical infrastructure.

This procedure is used in cases such as network expansion, voltage change, or the installation of collective self-consumption. To start the process, you will need to have the CUPS code or the address of the supply point on hand.

What should you know about managing connection requests?

Before opening a connection request, it is important to know if you really need it. In some cases, such as an increase in power within the permitted limit or certain types of self-consumption, it is not necessary. However, if the installation requires significant changes, such as a renovation or a new access to the network, you will need to start the procedure.

Next, we explain in more detail in which situations this procedure is required and when it is not necessary.

To save you from filling out unnecessary requests, here are the situations where you don't need to open a request:

Enchufe con senal de potencia
Increasing power within the maximum contractable limit. If you're unsure, check "Do I need a request?"
Placa con sol y senal de potencia
Self-consumption without excess
Placa solar junto a sol
Individual self-consumption with excess for installations up to 15kW, in urbanized areas

Here are the cases for Consumption and Self-consumption where opening a request is necessary:

Enchufe con senal de potencia
Voltage change
Enchufe con senal de potencia
Renewal of connection installations
Enchufe con senal de potencia
Property reconstruction
Enchufe con senal de potencia
Modification of existing installations (variants and TCT)
Placa solar junto a sol
Collective self-consumption
Placa solar junto a sol
Individual self-consumption with excess for installations over 15 kW, in urbanized areas
Placa solar junto a sol
Individual self-consumption with excess for installations in non-urbanized areas

Do you need to change your power capacity?

For this, it's not always necessary to open a request. We'll help you find out if you need to or not.
